University of California at Davis Veterinary Genetics Lab DNA test results for her parents: (Copies of these parent results are included in all Kitten Folders and are available for viewing.) PK Def: N/N (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency [Inherited Fatal Anemia Disease]: Negative/Negative....Not even a carrier.) PRA: N/N (Progressive Retinal Atrophy [Inherited Blindness Disease]: Negative/Negative...Not even a carrier.) Since both of her parents are N/N for both diseases, she has to be N/N also, aka N/N "by parentage".
Below is a slideshow of photos taken on August 13, 2014 when Merica was 17 weeks old. She is developing into an AMAZING Bengal girl!!!! She is super, super sweet and should also be a large girl. She has a wonderful profile, nice rounded back-skull, puffy whisker pads, strong chin, large nocturnal eyes, perfect thick symetrical tail, nice bone structure/gait, amazing unique rosettes (including a heart-shaped rosette and question mark!) with diagonal flow to her pattern and NO RIB BARS! And did I mention her super contrast and heavy glitter??? She even loves to go for car rides already! I could not be any happier with this girl!
Below is a slideshow of photos of Merica taken Sept. 22, 2014 at 5 months old. My daughter, Shelby, and I took Merica and our Rat Terrier, Precious, out to a nearby gorgeous lake to enjoy the Fall weather. It was Merica's first time wearing a harness and walking on a leash.... and she did fantastic! And she definitely received lots of attention from strangers, as any leopard-looking cat out walking on a leash is bound to do!
